Teaching
MU-Varna is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education. I am convinced that it prepares you to become a skilled doctor.
At MU-Varna, learning in small groups is emphasised. In seminars and practices, you find group sizes of a maximum of 25 fellow students. I find faculty members qualified and caring. Theoretical training is organised in student streams. You find your materials and online learning on the Blackboard and AccessMedicine systems.
Admission 📝
There are around 300 spots available each year. To get one of them, the university requires you to do an entry test. The main part goes for 90 minutes in which you need to answer 43 questions. There is not really a time pressure but the questions can be tricky. I highly recommend checking out our Varna Admission Test Guide 2023 📝 🧭 posts for detailed guidance.
Details about the Entry tests can be found here or contact the university at admissions@mu-varna.bg. Check out our course!
We wish you much success with your application! 🙌
Orientation Week
Once you're in, you'll have the chance to meet your future fellow students during orientation week at the end of September. We highly recommend participating in Orientation Week. It includes introductory presentations, team events, and an opportunity to get to know the city, Bulgarian culture, and the University. During this week you can already get familiar with your new environment. You will meet senior student advisers and representatives of the student governing body.
It will be a fantastic experience, believe me 😀.
Exams
To earn ECTS points, you need to pass courses. In each subject, you collect about 5 grades - one being a written exam. Written exams take place in June. It is essential that you engage in rigorous and consistent study throughout the academic year. For helpful tips and resources on how to develop a great study routine, be sure to check out the @Study Guide - Medicine in Bulgaria 🎯👩⚕️👨🏽⚕️. Please note that for each course, you are provided with two free retakes in the event that you do not pass the exam on your first attempt. If you require additional attempts, you will be required to pay for each subsequent retake up to a maximum of eight total attempts.
Vacation 🏖️
For Christmas and Easter and in February you will have 2 weeks. In the summer, July, August and September are completely free. Many students use the time to relax, go on Vacation. Others take it for internships to gain some practical experience.
Canteen 🍴
At a student discount you can choose from a variety of dishes. I go there everyday.
